Psychometric tests often decide who reaches interview, sometimes before a recruiter has read your CV. Practise SHL, PICA, Cubiks, Saville, People Test Logic, Matrigma and many other test formats, learn the question types, and sit the real test knowing where you stand.
Why Employers Use Psychometric Tests
Popular graduate schemes and professional roles attract far more applicants than any recruiter can interview. Consultancies, banks and large organisations have therefore relied on ability tests for decades to decide who goes forward.
A psychometric test measures how fast you take in new information, how well you reason with it and how clearly you can make sense of a complex or unfamiliar situation. That is why the same kind of test turns up in very different jobs.
Where the test sits in a UK recruitment process. The usual sequence is an online application, one or more online tests, a video or telephone interview, an assessment centre and then an offer. The online tests are often the first real filter, so a weak result can end an application early.
Every test is timed. Speed counts as much as accuracy, because you need to get through the questions before the clock runs out.
How Test The Talent works. Our practice tests are built to match the tests from the publishers named on this site. Start with a free test to see your current level, then take the full practice tests as often as you like. Repeating the sets and reading the explanation for every question is where the learning happens, and it shows on the day.
Practise by Question Type
Numerical Reasoning Tests
Our numerical questions cover both styles you are likely to meet. There are SHL-style tasks where you read tables and graphs, and the pure maths found in Predictive Index (PICA) tests: word problems, equations, lowest numbers, calculations and number sequences.
Every numerical question comes with a detailed explanation, so you can see exactly where a mark was lost and get quicker with each attempt.
Logical and Inductive Reasoning Tests
Logical and inductive reasoning questions reward method more than talent. We show you how to spot the patterns and work through each item systematically, so you solve them faster. You get practice tests for specific test publishers as well as general logic training, and every Test The Talent product includes our logical training guide.
Verbal Reasoning Tests
Verbal reasoning comes in several formats. The best known is the SHL-style comprehension task: you read a text of 200 to 300 words and answer questions that show how well you understand it. Other test systems use antonyms, analogies, opposite words and verbal logical sequences, and you can practise all of them here.
